COUNSELING SERVICES

Friends of the Family Ministries has been promoting healthy relationships and healthy homes since 1994. Our offices are comfortable, confidential and dedicated to helping people resolve issues they face.

Our outreach includes:

Individual Counseling
Friends of the Family offers counseling to individuals seeking to deal with a variety of personal issues. Colleen Ghasedi, MA, is our counselor to women.  Ken Himes, DMin, also counsels men and women.

Child and Adolescent Counseling
Friends of the Family provides play therapy for children and counseling for teenagers to help them express their emotions constructively and to assist with behavioral, developmental, anger, abuse and similar life issues. Colleen Ghasedi, MA, is our child and adolescent therapist.

Premarital Counseling
Friends of the Family is a strong supporter of pre-marital counseling to help all engaged couples build a foundation for a life-long relationship.  Ken Himes, DMin, is our premarital counselor.

Most clergy in Benton County, and many others throughout the state and nation are strongly encouraging couples they marry to have a minimum of 6 counseling sessions, take at least one personality and/or relationship assessment test, and spend at least four months preparing for marriage before the wedding. Marriage Counseling
Friends of the Family offers counseling to couples seeking to strengthen and/or restore their marriage. We offer support for divorce and other major marital difficulties. Ken Himes, DMin, is our couples counselor.

Parenting Counseling
Friends of the Family encourages parents to seek counsel as they guide and train their children. Older children can be included in counseling as appropriate. Colleen Ghasedi, MA and Ken Himes, DMin both provide counseling to parents.

If you are seeking counsel in any of the listed areas we would encourage you to schedule an appointment by calling (541) 757-1761 (Corvallis) or (541) 917-8957 (Albany).
