As persons called upon to perform wedding ceremonies, we have common concerns regarding marriage. We believe:

• That marriage is a gift from God for the good of humankind.
• That marriage is too often ruined, resulting in misery and/or divorce.
• That marriage must be treasured and nurtured through commitments of love, time and honored promises.
• That as religious and civic leaders we have a responsibility to provide quality marriage preparation and on-going support to strengthen and nourish families.

Therefore, we will:

• Expect a minimum of three months and four sessions of premarital counseling.
• Provide or refer to the best programs, materials and information we can find or develop for marriage preparation and on-going family enrichment.
• Make every effort to help plan and conduct joyful and meaningful wedding ceremonies.
