Upcoming workshops, seminars and events. 29 October 2009 Ministering in a Culture of Cohabitation As much as we in ministry might not want to face it, the reality is that 60-70% of couples today live together before marriage. For them, moving in together before getting married makes sense. Biblical arguments to the contrary are ignored or rationalized away. How are we to respond? The latest research findings offer help. Scott Stanley and Galena Rhoades, from the Center for Marital Studies at the University of Denver, presented "Living with Cohabitation: What it Means for Relationship Education" at the Smart Marriages Conference in Orlando on July 9. Their cutting-edge research provides insights that all pastors and ministry leaders should have at their fingertips. Friends of the Family Ministries will show a DVD of their presentation Thursday, October 29 from noon to 1 PM at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 1736 NW Dixon Street, Corvallis. Bring your own lunch. Discussion following for those who wish to stay. Handouts provided.
